Infos and details

FRIDAY, JUNE 26 – MEETING OPENING

Starting at 9:00 a.m., participants can register throughout the morning; afterward, they can park their UNIMOGs in the assigned area.
The day continues with the arrival of the latecomers—who are always there. For those who have already settled in, we’ve decided to leave Friday afternoon free so you can visit the fair and do some shopping. Chainsaws, ropes, slings—you can find everything here!! There will also be stands dedicated to local products where you can sample regional delicacies.
Check the fair’s program, as there will be numerous fun events, such as lumberjack competitions, and other interesting activities like conferences on forestry.

As we do every year, Saturday morning is set aside for a hike. This year, our trip will take us to the Monti della Luna, an alpine area located in the province of Turin, specifically in the Upper Susa Valley, between the towns of Cesana Torinese and Claviere. This area is renowned for its landscapes characterized by light-colored rocks that resemble the surface of the moon.
Wide, obstacle-free roads, passable even with standard 4x4s, are ideal for our Unimogs. The panorama is endless, with a spectacular view of Sestriere.
We’ll arrive at BAITA GIMONT for a quick lunch, to relax and enjoy the day in nature.
In the afternoon, we’ll return to base camp. In the evening, we’ll all have dinner together. As is tradition, we’ll present the various awards to the participants during dinner.

We’ll drive in convoy to visit one of the many military fortifications in the surrounding area, dating back to the late 19th century and built to defend against potential French attacks through the Fréjus railway tunnel.
At the end of the tour, which will last a couple of hours, we’ll return to base camp and raise a farewell toast to say goodbye; officially, the gathering ends here.

Weather permitting, for the more adventurous, the gathering continues at base camp, where we’ll have fun on a short off-road course to show the BOOSTER FAIR audience what the UNIMOG can do off-road. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

This excursion is an “unscheduled” event. We will only know if it is possible to take this route 10–15 days before the rally begins. It all depends on how the winter went and whether or not the road was damaged. If we obtain authorization, we will have the road open off-season exclusively for ourselves. Keep in mind that it is a long route that will take the entire day, but it is well worth it.
The Assietta Road, approximately 40 km long, is a spectacular unpaved military road—one of the highest in Europe—running along the watershed between the Susa Valley and the Chisone Valley, connecting Sestriere to Colle delle Finestre. It offers breathtaking views of the Western Alps and is a famous route for off-road enthusiasts, with sections reaching an altitude of 2,550 meters, crossing the historic site of the Battle of Assietta (1747).

The program is subject to change due to weather conditions or the unavailability of venues.

Valpolicella Meeting 2025

WHERE: Valpolicella (VR)

WHEN: July 18, 19, 20, 2025

Program

Friday 18

MEETING OPENING
From the morning we open our annual gathering: so we are waiting for you to take your place at the base camp.

BASE CAMP
The base camp at Crossodromo Monte Loffa, has a large equipped area exclusively reserved for us. Toilets and showers are available, as well as a refreshment/forest facility with four rooms totaling 12 beds.

VALPOLICELLA ROMANA.
We will visit not only vineyards and a winery, where we will have a wine tasting, but also an archaeological area where beautiful mosaics have been found.
Valpolicella, known mainly for its vineyards, has a past of great value in Roman history: all around are many traces testifying to the numerous Roman settlements and monuments. From here passed the Via Claudia Augusta, a road that connected Verona with the Brenner Pass and thus with the territories of the barbarian populations (today Austria and Germany).

PANORAMIC TOUR
We will arrive in upper Lessinia by anticipating the Translessinia, a route of easy, wide and unobstructed white roads.
We will enjoy a panorama dotted with large pastures and numerous mountain pastures. At the end of the route, we will reach the Refuge for lunch and return in the evening for the social dinner.

FORT VISIT
We will close with Fort Monte Tesoro, part of an early 20th century fortification complex that formed a defensive ‘maginot line’ together with the forts of Lessinia-Forte Masua, Santa Viola, San Briccio and Castelletto.
We will be able to enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view: from the plain, Verona, Mount Pastello and Mount Baldo, to the Lessinia chain.
Finally we will visit a company producing typical cold cuts and cheeses and have lunch at the Bosco Allegro: a picnic area equipped with grills, tables and pergolas where we can cook and consume the products purchased in the store with a well-stocked wine cellar.

During lunch the usual awards and commendations to participants, greetings and…
see you next year!

MEETING Unimog Club Italia 2023
A STROLL THROUGH HISTORY, ENGINES, NATURE AND TYPICAL ITALIAN CUISINE

Dear friends,
the Gathering 2023 was a resounding success!!!
A warm thank you to those who took part!

In spite of the adverse weather that characterised Friday, complicating camp set-up and arrival management operations, everything went smoothly and the crews from Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Holland managed to register and park their vehicles in the dedicated areas.

On Friday afternoon, thanks to the collaboration of the legendary Gechi, our guests were able to visit the Officina Guzzi and Parodi, the place where Moto Guzzi was practically born. The visit to the Moto Guzzi museum, assisted by the specialists of the Guzzi Club, completed the tour inside the history of this prestigious brand, envied throughout the world.

On Friday evening, we were offered the opportunity to dine under the sheds where Emanuel Angius’ Street Food was present, the well-known free-style trial champion with whom we have established a mutual and lasting relationship.

On Saturday the UCI Executive, in the presence of the Mayor, Dr. Riccardo Fasoli, presented the Head of the Mandello Civil Defence with a gift for the valuable work carried out: a Shindaiwa long shaft hedge trimmer supplied by our sponsor Zeta – Garden Equipment. It is a tradition for the Unimog Club Italia to work in the social field, always offering something to local administrations as a sign of thanks for having welcomed us. In previous years, the off-road driving courses offered to Municipal Civil Defence Groups and Police Forces under the direction of our off-road instructor and current vice-president, Fabio Pozzoli, have been very successful.

We also had the pleasure of receiving a visit from a group of youngsters from ‘La Nostra Famiglia’ of Mandello, accompanied by their educators. The camp leader – Eng. Marco Citterio – guided them through the vehicles on the field, explaining to them the peculiarities and potential of each vehicle.

During the dinner, the President of the Unimog Club Italia – avv. Alessandro Baldassari – with the invaluable and irreplaceable help of UCG Treasurer Claudio Lazzarini and members of the UCI Executive Board, awarded prizes to the crews who had travelled the furthest (Cock De Roon from Nijkerk in the Netherlands with a U2400 truck and Markus and Christiane Hame from Dortmund with a U411 truck), the Italian crew who travelled the most kilometres (Stefano Granati from Rome), the girl who showed up at the Gathering driving her Unimog (Alice Kumpmeier from Porta Westfalica – Germany) and the owner of the smallest and best-equipped vehicle (the stainless Andreas Burren from Gasel – Switzerland). Awards were then presented to the sponsors who made the organisation of the rally possible (Galli Ezio S.p.A., Bernasconi Group, Milani Giardini, SAMA Safety, Eurometal, Zeta and FP Tech). Among the technical sponsors we had the Centro Meteorologico Lombardo (Lombardy Meteorological Centre) – which continually updated us on weather developments during the Raduno, ARI Lecco, Interarma Protezione Civile, Amiche per la Vita (Friends for Life), the Rifugio Valbiandino (Valbiandino Shelter) and the Agriturismo Trote Blu (Blue Trout Farm).

Next appointment?
The Social Lunch – the date of which will be announced shortly.
We are waiting for you, don’t miss it!!!
